High-end commercial production in Berlin
Campaign films. Music videos. Branded content. Photo production. Vertical. For all screen sizes.
Bears Calling is a Berlin boutique production company. We've been around since 2011 and picked up a few awards along the way, including an Echo and a Cannes Lions. We produce for agencies, brands, artists and platforms.
High end craft, every format
TVC's to TikTok. The same standard across.
Some projects need cinematic production value. Others need fast, native content that works in feed. A TikTok can be shot on the same day as a TVC and hold the same visual standard. The format changes. The craft doesn't.
One shoot, many formats
Hero film to vertical. Planned, not retrofitted.
Shoots are set up for hero films, cut downs, toolkits and vertical deliverables. All screen sizes, all platforms. Social content that performs in feed without losing production value, because it was planned that way, not added as an afterthought.
A single production typically delivers:
Photo production Berlin
Film and photography. One shoot, one visual language.
A lot of campaigns need both film and photography. We run integrated shoots: video and photo in the same production, same creative direction, consistent visual language across every asset.
Photo production covers:
Post production in house
Offline to final grade. Under one roof.
Editing and color grading happen here, not at a separate facility. From offline to final grade, everything stays under one roof.
Post production capabilities:
Service production in Germany
End to end. Location to wrap.
Coming to Germany with an international project? We do service production end to end. Location scouting, casting, permits, crew, equipment, logistics, on the ground production management.
That goes for international productions as much as for German production companies or brands based outside Berlin who want to shoot here. If you need a local partner on the ground in Berlin we can take it on.
Service production covers:
Director network
Right director for the brief. Not the nearest one on the roster.
We represent and work with a roster of directors across commercial, music video and branded content. Send us your brief and we'll match you with the right director for the tone, the format and the story. The production gets built around the creative, not the other way around.
Questions we get asked
What is service production in advertising?
Service production means a local production company handles the full on-the-ground operation for an international shoot. That covers location scouting, casting, permits, crew and equipment sourcing, logistics and on-set management. The international agency or brand brings the creative; the service producer makes it happen locally. It's common practice when a campaign requires shooting in a specific country and the commissioning company doesn't have a local production base there.
How does TVC and campaign film production work?
A TVC or campaign film production typically moves through four stages: development, pre-production, shoot and post. Development covers the brief, director selection and treatment. Pre-production handles casting, locations, crew, scheduling and logistics. The shoot executes the approved plan. Post covers editing, color grading, sound and delivery. For campaign productions, the shoot is usually structured to generate multiple formats simultaneously: hero film, cut downs, photo assets, vertical versions and toolkits, rather than producing each separately.
What is the difference between branded content and a campaign film?
A campaign film is built around a product or message and is typically designed for paid media placement: TVCs, pre-rolls, digital formats. Branded content sits closer to editorial: it leads with a story, a character or a world, and the brand presence is more integrated than foregrounded. Branded content is often longer, designed for earned or owned channels, and aims to hold attention rather than interrupt.
How do I brief a production company?
The most useful briefs cover: what the project is, who it's for, what it needs to communicate, which formats and platforms it needs to work across, and the timeline and budget range. You don't need a finished creative before talking to a production company. An early brief often leads to better director matching and more useful input on format planning. Send what you have. We'll ask the right questions.
