Bears Calling is a production company. That hasn't changed. What has changed is the toolkit. Without strong creative direction, AI produces content that looks generated. We use generative AI in concepting, previsualization, versioning and full productions, with a network of AI artists and creative technologists we bring in when a project asks for it.
What hybrid means for us?
Live action, design, post and generative AI. The mix depends on the project.
We don't start with the technology. We start with the brief. How much AI is involved depends on what the project needs. Some productions use generative tools in concepting and never again. Others are built entirely from generated imagery. Most land somewhere in between.When a project needs deeper AI work, we bring in specialists from our network. The idea decides the approach, not the other way around.
Where we use AI?
Concept to delivery. At the stages where it actually changes something.
• Concepting. Moodboards, world building, visual exploration. Entire visual territories developed before anything gets approved or built.
• Previsualization. AI generated storyboards, style frames and animatics. Camera movement, composition and pacing figured out before the shoot.
• AI voice over. Multilingual voice cloning, fast iterations. Multiple language versio
ns and voice styles tested in development.
• Versioning. Language versions, format adaptations and cut downs built within the same pipeline.
• Fully generative. Characters, environments and motion built entirely through AI pipelines.

One of the first mainstream AI music videos in Germany.
In 2025 we helped deliver one of the early mainstream music videos made entirely with AI. We concepted the characters and world, built a moodboard to align the team, generated images in ComfyUI, curated key stills for the core scenes and brought everything into motion with tools like Kling, Veo and Sora. The whole video was generative, start to finish.

How long does an AI production take?
Depends on the project. A fully generative spot can be done in one to two weeks. Hybrid projects with live action and AI elements follow a more traditional timeline.
Is AI production cheaper than traditional production?
Fully generative projects cut out the shoot entirely, so yes, that changes the budget. But good creative work still takes time and people. We're upfront about what costs what
What about rights and usage?
Every client has different policies. We work within your compliance requirements and make sure the workflow is set up so rights, approvals and brand safety are covered.
Which tools do you use?
Depends on the look and the project. We work with ComfyUI for image pipelines, and video generation tools like Kling, Veo, Runway, Sora and others. Things move fast in this space. We test and use what delivers the best results right now.
